After the ceremony, the President met with the Ambassador, wishing him a warm welcome and a successful mission, and expressed his belief that during his term of office and in cooperation with the state authorities of Montenegro, the Ambassador will contribute to the improvement of bilateral relations, which are based on friendship, alliance in NATO and the shared ambition to become part of the European family of nations in the foreseeable future.

Noting that the relations between Montenegro and North Macedonia were wisely and responsibly safeguarded both in the framework of Yugoslavia and later, he said that the frequent high-level political dialogue, including the official visit of President Pendarovski, as well as numerous meetings at the working level, create room for upgrading and further improvement of mutual relations. President praised overall bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of defense, internal affairs and culture, encouraging further initiatives for better preparations of the second joint session of the governments of Montenegro and North Macedonia after the stabilization of the political circumstances in the country.

He informed about the complex situation in the country and the necessity to get out of the crisis through democratic procedures with a view to establishing a stable, European-oriented and legitimate government and restoring the dynamics of the integration process, which is imperative for all countries in the region, in order to ensure stability and encourage the adoption European values. In that context, he expressed full commitment and readiness of Montenegro to provide a sincere and friendly support to North Macedonia in its negotiation process with the EU. The stability of our countries will be more reliable as we get closer to the EU, the President said.

Ambassador Ramčilović thanked the President for his time and meeting, highly appreciating friendly relations between the two countries at a bilateral and multilateral level. Conveying greetings from the President Pendarovski and expressing respect to Montenegro and President Đukanović personally, the Ambassador thanked for the support to North Macedonia in the EU accession process, especially appreciating Montenegro's achievements and experiences, despite certain stagnation on that path. The experience of Montenegro is very significant to North Macedonia and it is good that the voice of North Macedonia is heard in the international community through you as well, the Ambassador said. Appreciating a warm welcome to Montenegro, the Ambassador expressed hope for a successful diplomatic mission aimed at further development of relations, stressing the importance of better traffic connections for the benefit of citizens and the business community.

They agreed on the priority to intensify economic cooperation, noting that stable political conditions in the countries are crucial to that end.
